Huge crowd tipped to See Tendulkar

A bumper crowd is expected at the MCG on Boxing Day as cricket fans prepare for a likely Australian farewell to star Indian batsmen Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman.
Cricket Australia officials are banking on more than 75,000 fans attending the MCG for the opening day of the four-Test series.
MCC visitors passes have sold out for the traditional and iconic post-Christmas sporting event and Cricket Australia is advising fans to book ahead to avoid disappointment.

World War II veteran Reg Ellis enthralled after meeting Sachin Tendulkar


The last survivor of the Victory Test matches played by ex-servicemen after the end of the second World War, 94-year-old Reg Ellis from Adelaide, was ecstatic after meeting Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar during Sir Donald Bradman Oration in Canberra on Wednesday.

Ellis and his team, which included future Test cricketers Flying Officer Kieth Miller and Warrant Officer Lindsay Hassett were also honoured at the function.
